Welcome! I'm thrilled that you've chosen to shop at Twill Haven. For my first blog post, I'd like to talk a little bit about where my inspiration comes from. One of my first questions when starting this site was... how in the world do I decide what clothing to buy?
I posed this question to one of my friends who owns a super-cute boutique in my home town. Her reply was something to the effect of... "I buy clothing that I would wear myself." What a simple concept.
If you know me, you know that I am very much a Type A personality, which leads me to overthink every decision I make. It's super annoying (just ask my husband!). I was allowing myself to get overwhelmed with the millions of clothing options available in the universe.
After this conversation with my friend, I took a different approach. I started browsing the wholesale sites looking for items that I would actually buy and wear myself. This has really helped me narrow down a specific style, while also keeping in mind some of my family/friends whose styles I adore.
My other inspiration comes from a mom/woman's best friend... Pinterest! One thing I plan to do is post Pinterest-inspired outfits on a regular basis. I have about a million outfits pinned that I'm absolutely in love with, so you will see those ideas carry over into Twill Haven.
Lastly, I am a mother of two, so practical style is my best friend. I love styles that can easily transition from work to play or from mommin' it to date night. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to wear sequins all day every day, but that just doesn't work for me right now. So let's all agree that those pieces will be saved for those college students who are up all night (not because of kids and their nightmares!) or those wonderful twice a year trips to Las Vegas.
